Now that the official announcement has been made, I feel it’s a good time to share an update with regards to my new role as I’m working full-time again.

I am now with WSET as Senior Development Manager – Beer.  For those who aren’t familiar with WSET, it is a global non-profit drinks education company. The company is probably best-known for its wine diploma, but also offers a portfolio of awards in spirits, sake and, very soon: beer!

I started working for WSET three years ago, when I was brought on to consult on the development of course content and structure for the beer awards. From there, I also started supporting the business development team and was brought on full-time this past January.

I’m very much looking forward to the release of these new courses and, as a sensory specialist, particularly look forward to the introduction of the Systematic Approach to Tasting Beer and to the cultivation of beer tasting skills through live classes, which I feel are meaningful contributions.

In the meantime, we’ve been busy training future educators. The first training just ended in Toronto and it was just great to see everything coming together!
