Mirella’s beer workshops are just amazing, she was able to come in and give a complete overview of beer production as well as getting into styles and pairings, she did this with our group of 12 servers in just over a half day.  Mirella was able customize  (not to mention translate into French) the whole course to meet our specific needs without any trouble at all, and she got rave reviews from all our staff.  Her training session made a huge difference in our staff’s beer knowledge.

Having taken Mirella’s Beerology 101 and Off-Flavouring Seminar I can honestly say that I am much more confident in my beer knowledge.  Her patience and pleasantly fun teaching method created the perfect atmosphere for learning beer history, food pairing and tasting!  The feedback from the clients invited to attend is overwhelmingly positive, with many asking when Mirella is returning. I highly recommend Mirella to anyone looking to train staff or sharpen their own personal knowledge in any aspect of the beer spectrum.

I brought in Mirella Amato to teach her Beerology course as a training tool for a new staff who knew very little about the beer industry. Not only did my team leave with a good understanding of the origin of beer and its different styles, but also with a new confidence in how to taste, sell, and most importantly appreciate it (one of my servers credits Mirella for turning her into a self proclaimed “beer geek”).

The seminar moved at a great pace with entertaining team building activities and tastings, and Mirella’s laid back and informal teaching style helped make for an approachable, interactive, and really fun day.

The Beerology Manual is a fantastic resource – evident by the beer stained and dog-eared nature of our bar copy – a necessity for any beer bar.

I would most definitely recommend Mirella’s seminar to any bar manager looking to develop their staff’s beer knowledge and boost their beer sales. Mirella’s vast knowledge and obvious passion for the industry is inspirational and infectious!

“Mirella has been a key partner in helping Pluckers Winghouse and Watering Hole become a success.  Her extensive knowledge was key in educating our staff but also to assist in creating a top notch beer and food pairing menu that people in Sudbury are talking about.”

John Arnold – Pluckers Winghouse and Watering Hole – Sudbury, ON

Mirella with Beerology joined us during a day of production meetings and team building.  Our production team is comprised of educated food science individuals, office staff, and some general labourers who help in different aspects of our daily tasks.

She brought a wealth of knowledge to the table in her sampling session to demonstrate “Things that can go Wrong at the Brewery”.  She was able to engage those with highly-trained palates, to those who had never tried to discern off-flavours, and all of us in-between.  The conversation and education that resulted from the session was invaluable.  Our team is engaging in conversation to ensure consistency in our product, and to converse about any potential risk in creating new brands.

Thank you Mirella, you improved our camaraderie, our knowledge and contributed to a great team building exercise!

Nowadays customers appreciate knowledgeable and educated service. I recommend the Beerology course to anyone involved in beer-sales whether they serve from a long tap-list, a modest one, or from bottles alone. I work as a restaurant manager and after my staff and I participated in the Beerology course, I noticed a marked difference in our knowledge and confidence while serving our beer products. Even those on my staff who went into the course with considerable beer-knowledge were pleasantly surprised by what they took away from it. Today, customers have more information at their disposal; it is vital to have an informed and educated staff.

Furthermore, Mirellaʼs enthusiasm, energy and wealth of knowledge made us comfortable and, so, we could absorb the information easily and translate it to our service practices and customers fluidly.

I highly recommend Mirellaʼs Beerology 101course!

We were fortunate enough to have Mirella travel to our city for the opening of our new brewery!  Mirella hosted an “ Ontario Ales and Cheese” evening that was well beyond our expectations.  Mirella is knowledgeable, entertaining, and had our audience enraptured for over 90 minutes.  Her professionalism and style lent credibility to our business and we gained 65 loyal clients that evening.  Through education and storytelling, Mirella captures her audience and does not let them go until they have a good understanding of beer and its wonderful complexities!

Thank you Mirella for sharing your gift with us—you gave us an excellent start to our brewing adventure!
